Welcome to Politics Gadfly. My name is Eli. I’m interested in politics, elections, the law, and elections with a primary focus on the United States. I also examine international politics to better understand global dynamics.

In classical Athens, Socrates likened himself to a gadfly (a horse-fly), an insect that persistently stings and provokes, keeping the large, sluggish horse of state alert and moving. This metaphor encapsulates the essence of critical, independent thought and the challenging of prevailing norms. This is the role my blog seeks to fulfill in the contemporary political landscape.
